How do you show career skills a client can check?

The old page said marketing consultants earn $75 to $150 an hour, engineers earn $5,000 to $25,000 a project, and finance pros earn $80 to $150 an hour. None of those ranges was tied to a primary source. They are cut. If you need a wage figure, use a published source for that occupation and name it. Do not borrow a blog's range.

One finished piece beats a list of services. Write what the work was, the constraint, and the result you can point to. A repository, a before-and-after, or a short explanation you could say out loud is the proof. A polished paragraph that adds a metric you did not measure is not.

The same rule covers a job application. The posting is the brief.

O*NET's task list is a way to see which paid work resembles the job you want (E21). A freelance project counts when the task matches. It does not count as years of employment you did not have.
