BLS does not publish AI exposure by industry. It classifies occupations. Of the 11 BLS occupations behind our Technology role guides, 1 “High”, 10 “Very high” (BLS AI-exposure categories, 2025–35 projections). BLS: “An exposure category is not a forecast of employment growth or decline.”
How many openings a year are there in these technology occupations?
Adding BLS’s annual openings for the 11 occupations gives about 434,100 a year over 2025–35. That is our sum of BLS figures, and it covers these occupations in every industry, not only technology employers.
What do technology jobs pay?
BLS OEWS (May 2025) publishes pay per occupation, not for a group of occupations, and percentiles cannot be averaged. Each occupation’s median and 10th–90th percentile range is in the table on this page.
